The Queens Park Dog Park ROLL OF HONOUR

Very grateful acknowledgement is made to the many people and their dogs for kindly having donated plastic poo bags and/or money to purchase same. The dogs visiting Queens Park, their owners and the Park users in general are indebted to your valiant acts of generosity!

(If you have made a donation and have yet to be acknowleded, or wish to donate poo bags, please contact the parkzombie, who maintains this list.)

2014

October:

Owner of Loki kindly donated R100

September

Gunnar and Moira kindly donated 2x bags

2013

Owner of Lilly-Rose

Gunnar and Moira, owners of Alli and Will (and other dogs who must be recorded) have made substantial donations

Primary acknowledgement is made to Delilah, owner of Maximus, who started the poo bag collection scheme in the first place. She arranged for the delivery of scores of plastic bag rolls!

Special mention also goes to those brave people who selflessly collect other people's dog's poo! This unlovely task is sometimes necessary.

We also acknowledge the many kind anonymous folk who, over the years, have left spare plastic bags in the plastic bag dispenser in the Dog Park.

QPWEB Donating Plastic Poo Bags

Queens Park Dog Park has many visitors and their dogs. The inevitable dog poo accumulates if it isn't collected and thrown into the red Dog Poo bins on the perimeter of the Dog Park.

The plastic bags for the above purpose are donated by kind dog owners, and donations (either in cash or in kind) are gratefully received. Their names (and / or those of their dogs) liveth for ever more on the prestigious Roll of Honour page.

How can I make a donation?

Several options:
  1. Purchase a plastic bag roll (or rolls) from one of the plastic bag outlets (see below) and deliver it to to the house with the green palisade fence in Queens Park Avenue, just north of the Play Park gate (no. 44), or give it to the man who locks the Dog Park gate at nightfall.

  2. Make a cash donation to the man who locks the gate, who will purchase the equivalent value of plastic bag rolls for you. Receipts are kept for all cash donations and will be delivered on request.

  3. If you have any spare (thin) plastic bags loose (such as those used to wrap milk sachets at supermarkets), stuff them into the Plastic Bag DIspenser in the Dog Park.
If you make a donation, please supply your and / or your dog's name, that these might be acknowledged on the Roll of Honour. Spare plastic bag rolls are stored by the parkzombie and deployed to the bag dispenser in the Dog Park when the old one has been used up.

Where can I buy Plastic Bags?

A convenient nearby outlet is at Plastipak, who are in the old Salt River Post Office building at 60 Salt River Road in Salt River.
Other suppliers will be added as they become known
