Dog Park

The Queens Park Dog Park is situated on what used to be the old Queens Park Swimming Pool's land, on the north-western corner of the park. More about this on the History page.

It is a highly sociable venue where people can bring their dogs for exercise during daylight hours.

The Dog Park is for sociable dogs only. Aggressive dogs are not welcome - if you want to exercise such dogs, please do not bring them into the Dog Park!

There is a Dog Drinking Fountain in the south-western corner of the Dog Park. This facility was made possible by Cllr Brett Herron after requests from dog owners. The water mains tap for the fountain is on the southern end of the Car Park, under a lid in the tarmac. Users are kindly requested to switch off the water mains when they leave to save water.

Dog Poo:

Owing to its popularity, scores of dogs are brought to the Dog Park each day. Dog owners are kindly requested to collect their dog poo and deposit the plastic bags in one of the red Poo Bins on the perimeter (If you don't, somebody will probably remind you...)

Plastic bags for this purpose are (usually) available in the metal dispenser at The Avenue entrance gate just inside the Dog Park.

These bags are kindly donated by Dog Park users. These magnificent, public-spirited people (and their dogs) are celebrated on the Roll of Honour page.
